The records of the General Manager of the Western Region consist of a series of locality files for the divisions under his control, plus three special series of accident files and files relating to activities during World War II. The records include material for the period 1922-1925 inherited from predecessor offices. The files represent a selection that had been brought from Chicago to the central records warehouse in Philadelphia. Most post-1940 files have been destroyed.
